Equine Bodywork
My journey into equine bodywork began in 2019, with Mike Scott’s Muscle Massage Certification. A 300-hour, 6 month course that focused heavily on anatomy, methodology, and body mechanics, started my deep dive into the body of the horse. My learning journey has only continued, with over 600 hours of continuing education in the field since.
I began my studies with Tom Mayes of Integrated Equine Therapies in January of 2023. Diving into the realm of craniosacral and osteopathic techniques, a whole other world of connection, efficacy, and knowledge was shared with me. The journey into functional indirect osteopathic techniques has given me insight into dis-ease and dysfunction and how to help the body heal from these.
I’ve attended classes and clinics offered all over, including Mike Scott’s Equine Muscle Massage School, Let Animals Lead Reiki courses, Dr. Sharon May-Davis dissections, Dr. Susan Fay’s clinic, Integrated Equine Therapies full courses, Jillian Krienbring’s Functional Anatomy course, Dr. Gerd Heuschmann clinics, studies with Sandy Siegrist, and Ida Hammer’s hoof trimming courses. Annual continuing education is incredibly important to me.
Session Information
Equine Bodywork Sessions assess the whole horse. We discuss things such as diet, dental care, tack fitting, hoof balance, lifestyle, history of illness and injury, and future goals. Horses of all disciplines and lifestyles can benefit from bodywork, as can humans!
My sessions utilize a mix of indirect and direct work to rebalance the body, working with vascular, neural, visceral, and musculoskeletal systems.
Sessions are typically ~1.5 hours, and are $125* per horse. Session note records are kept per session, including some photos, and sent to the owner post-session. A new note-taking format has been introduced that allows for better progress tracking and ease of sharing.
